Anxiety, Depression, Sleep, and Substance Dependence
Chronic and treatment-resistant anxiety, depression, sleep, and substance use disorders are often shaped — and sustained — by significant life stressors: demanding work conditions such as shift work, long commutes, or toxic environments; parents stretched too thin to give their children the time and attention they need; caregiver fatigue among those managing an aging or ill parent; career burnout among medical and legal professionals and trainees; and isolation among those estranged from family and friends.
This practice takes into account the environmental factors that affect anxiety, depression, sleep, and substance use — treatment includes not just medication regimens, but also timing of medication changes to avoid side effects that affects your busy schedules, work and school accommodations, counseling resources, and building long term support systems and plans to address underlying stressors.
